![]() I have a 1998 Caravan it has 198K no kidding original trans and engine. ![]() Is there anything that all these people can do to get some kind of compensation from Chrysler? I just brought my 98 caravan in today for the transmission. oil at 3k and trans fluid at about 20,000. I got a 98 grand caravan, with 101000., tran is great and 3.0 uses no oil. I do have the trans fluid changed by the dealer once a year, which is about every 15,000 miles. I thought I would post just to say that my 98 caravan has 78,000 miles and the transmission is still good. Dodge needs to either get it together and start producing quality products or at least do recalls on these vans. I had two dodge caravans in the last 3 month, one a 1996 the other a 1998.The 1998 had the transmission go out today thanksgiving. It had its name changed by Chrysler to let customers think it was a new type of transmission. According to the reports i read on the net, this transmission is a pure unadulterated piece of junk. I bought the 7 year, 70,000 warranty package so I'llbe covered for the next 3 time it leaves me sitting, at least. My trans mission went out at 21,000, a year old. I would like to know too.My 1998 Caravan has been a total lemon and now my Transmission has gone too at 83000.Ĭan't really give you an answer to your problem, but i guess I'mlucky. Do I have any legal recourse with Chrylser/Dodge to demand any or all of the repairs to be taken care of by them, rather than a cost to me? I now see that this has been a common problem with Chrysler/Dodge products and in particular the Caravan. The transmission just went on my 1998 Dodge Caravan (125,000Km).
